Deck Template Creation

Cutting cards is always the hardest part of deck brewing. Having pre-sized card categories can help with this immensely, improving testing by limiting redundancy and opening room for options elsewhere.

As far as implementation, the simplest approach might be to create a new “deck type” that prompts users to assign card slots, labelling them with pre-generated or custom categories. Example, for an EDH template, being able to assign 14/99 card slots as “Ramp”, and then having the ability to select this deck template when creating a new decklist.

Future potential to integrate these categories with a user’s custom tags to allow for auto-suggest-like functionality.
Another stretch goal in terms of layout would be the option to move these categories around like boxes on a deck list page, to better guide a viewer through deck components

Example:

  • Section 1: “Ramp” is a box on the top left
  • Section 2: “Draw” is a box on the bottom left
  • Section 3: “Creatures” is a box in the middle
  • Section 4: “Support” is a box on the top right
  • Section 5: “Wincons” is a box on the bottom right
