When I am deck building, I often find that having only the options for “Sideboard” and “Considering” are too limiting and not entirely accurate to how these get used.
In a normal deck, the Sideboard is supposed to be only 10-15 cards (iirc) that are actively swapped into the deck in between matches. So, these are cards that are in active use in the deck.
“Considering” is intended to be the list of every other card that the deck builder is evaluating for the deck.
However this does not really work as well because afaict Commander decks do not have a Sideboard in the first place. Instead, my experience has been that the Sideboard ends up being the “tier 1” Considering cards which are acitively being tested as candidates for the deck. While the “Considering” list ends up being every other card that shows promise or was evaluated, or that I simply want to bookmark for future reference in relation to the deck. This gets awkward beacuse a lot of cards I leave in the “Considering” list I am not actually considering anymore, but I dont want to remove them from association with the deck list and have no where else to put them.
I think it would be helpful if there were more options available. In my experience for building and testing Commander decks, instead of “Sideboard” and “Considering” it would be more useful to something like ranked lists of Considering cards, like “Considering Tier 1”, “Considering Tier 2”, “Considering Tier 3”, etc.., for sets of cards I am actively testing, cards I might test in the future, and cards I already tested but didnt use or removed for some reason. Even better, would be great to be able to also include notes with each card about why it was included / excluded from specific groupings.
Right now I end up having to write this information free-hand into the Primer section, and its very time consuming and tedious and gets outdated fast. It would be better to just have it all tied directly to the card entry in the Deck list, and then be able to organize them cards into more fine-grained ranked tiers of “Considering” card lists
