Planar Standard is a growing format that is trying to attract players looking for a more classic standard experience. It features a two year standard format without Universes Beyond plus the addition of Foundations. As the time of writing, there are only 5 legal sets. Foundations, Aetherdrift, Tarkir, EoE and Lorywn Eclipsed. With a smaller card pool it allows more cards from these sets to get featured that would otherwise be lost in a larger format. We’ve had a small explosion in growth with the release of TMNT and we expect to continue growing in the coming future.
The discord hosts weekly tournaments since November and it has over 1k members. We’ve also been featured in an article on Draft Sim: https://draftsim.com/planar-standard-mtg/
